Hi, Gave Powerprep 2 today and scored a 760(q-3 incorrect, v-5 incorrect) …First 7** score….Feeling quite good after this. Well needless to say, it is inflated…Lot of questions familiar…But I guess something around 720 is deserved, atleast for this test. But still a long way to go…Can’t jus be happy with this.

Have a schedule in place for the next 6 days…Gotto redo stuff from OG11, OG10 and Kaplan. Will try to get hold of Kaplan 800 if time permits. My next test is gonna be on 2nd aug..Kaplan3

My preparation is going on well.

Completed OG11 SC and reviewed all the Questions.

Quite satisfactory. Got a hit-rate of 90-95%.

Did CRs 50-120 from OG11. Will do some more CR tomorrow and then RC.

Will do a few PS from OG11 now and then hit the bed…

Update: Completed 75 quant from OG11.

Hmm…What do I say? Not very happy yet again..But yes, I have improved a lot in Quant. So all attention needed on the Verbal part. So some of the stats:

Quant-49; Made 6 mistakes, 2 of which were not counted in the score.

3-DS and 3-PS..almost all silly..

Verbal-30; Made 13 mistakes; SC-3, RC-5;CR-5

The problem with my verbal score is because i didnot take CR n RC seriously and just did them without any particular strategy.

Now I have 17 days left and I need to boost my Verbal score.

This is what i plan to do in the coming 5 days:

July 23rd: OG11 SC with explanations of both right and wrong answers. Make related flashcards. + 20 DS questions from Kaplan

July24th:OG11 RC (same)(Will try paraphrasing)+ 50 PS from OG11

July25th: OG11 CR(Will follow sumit’s strategy) +50PS from OG11

July26th: OG10 DS

July 27th Powerprep2 + review….(Will decide the rest depending on the scores). Wish me luck…Please suggest something that I can do to improve my Verbal score. Be bak soon with better status…

Kaplan CAT1 550…quite far from the dream..

I took my first Kaplan CAT on 13th July, and scored a dismal 550(q38,v26). Not very happy right now. But yes, I reviewed my performance n got back to work.

The scores: Quant-38(15 wrong)

Still facing the same problem. My DS performance sucks big time. Got 5 PS and 10 DS wrong.

Verbal-26(20 wrong…OMG …that was shattering…But Kaplan RCs are really tough to comprehend.

Well, I feel I could have done a bit better without those silly mistakes in quant..almost 5 of them.

Now the Action Points:

Stopped working out problems and started preparing flash cards. So now I am working for a day on getting my basics right.
Got some tips on DS from Manhattan Geometry book.
Y’day was bad coz i kept on thinking about my Kaplan CAT…but today’s preps are going on well.

As Planned, I have completed Sentence Correction(Kind of..) A lot of improvement.

Kaplan SC-47/51

OG10 SC-Around 230/268

OG11 SC -Done long bak…plan do it again somewhere near the exam date.

The types of mistakes I am repeating:

Choosing Wordy options sometimes…
Overanalysis…leding to confusion
Overlooking certain things like…I didnt observe the redudancy of Annual and Year’s in a sentence.
Choosing Passive voice.–GMAT doesnot prefer Passive tone usually.

CR: Will finish CR by the end of the day…and post the performance results today.

RC: Will finish RC tomorrow. Planning to give a Kaplan test on Sunday…

Hi…That’s the update. I got a better breakdown in this test but the score says 600. Not very dissappointed, as I made quite a few silly mistakes. Will do better next time..

Also My G-day’s gonna be 11th Aug…Just booked the date yesterday…so all set. Wish me luck!!!

So that was my score on another GMATPrep with very few questions repeating. U might have observed that theres not much of an improvement in verbal. I actually thought I’ll be able to do Verbal better than quant when i started off my preps. Anywayz, its never too late. I did come to know a few weaknesses n why i’ve been scoring less.

I do have a schedule now.

The G-day is gonna be 12th aug 2008..

July 15th-1 kaplan full length test…Iknow its risky, but thats fine.

Hi…Sry for not posting y’day as promised. Had a Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig reason. I had an appointment with the dentist y’day evening, and the check up ended up in a Root Canal. So the silence. Well I did complete the OG RCs y’day, the hit rate being 80%. Had a good review of why things were wrong or right.

Time for the CRs next. I haven’t gone through any strategy books yet so gonna approach CRs my own way. Will read completely and use elimination. Plan is to finish CRs by tonight. Gonna post soon..

GmatPrep-1 610(q42,v33)…Hope to Improve

Well, I know I wrote my previous post 9 days bak…Well..I have taken GMATPrep 1 and scored an average 610. Not very happy with it..but I know where I am now and what mistakes I have been doing. Studied OG11 This week. Completed sentence correction and 3/4th of RC. Also finished 150/250 PS questions. Whatt I have observed is that I make silly mistakes. Working on that.

So expect to complete RC along with a review of all the questions…by end of today. Will post an update again tonight once I am done, and only then hit the bed. Wish me Luck!!!
